littlebigplanet (ps3)
one of the most highly anticipated titles this year. littlebigplanet lets you create your own world and play it with your friends. its really much more than that though, with sounds, images, and effects such as fire, gas, and electricity. check out the videos on our game page to see why everyone is so excited.
fable 2 (xbox 360)
the sequel to one of the most ambitious adventure games of 2004. this game promises to be even bigger with game mechanics such as an intelligent canine companion, context sensitive combat, and the ability to have an in-game family.
gears of war 2 (xbox 360)
violent, bloody, and incredibly visceral. the sequel to one of the best selling games of 2006, excellent scripted story elements and compelling multiplayer ensure that this is one not to be missed.
lips (xbox 360)
two wireless motion sensitive, light-up microphones come packaged with this karaoke game that promises some great tunes, and the ability to import music from your own library.
star wars: the force unleashed (xbox 360, ps3, wii, ds, psp)
its star wars… again! this time there is a unique twist though. as darth vader’s apprentice, you are extremely powerful. force powers will enable you to smash up environments and fling your enemies around.
resident evil 5 (xbox 360, ps3)
high fidelity graphics backup the intense action in the next game in the popular resident evil franchise. this time around you have to use the light and dark to your advantage as you fight hordes of villagers.
banjo kazooie: nut and bolts (xbox 360)
the fifth game in the banjo series, nuts and bolts sees you building unique vehicles for use in this fun adventure game.
spore creatures (ds)
featuring similar creature creation to its pc brother - spore, this game will give you the opportunity to play spore whilst you are out and about.
viva pinata: trouble in paradise (xbox 360)
this unique pinata gardening simulator has been tweaked to make it more accessible this time around. offering the same charm and innovation as the first, it also includes the ability to share content by taking pictures of barcodes using the xbox vision camera.
ghostbusters: the video game (xbox 360, ps3, ds, wii)
its a new ghostbusters video game. voiced by some of the original cast, written by the original writers, and… its a ghostbusters game. we’re not going to try and convince you - just buy it.
animal crossing city folk (wii)
it was bound to happen and was officially announced at E3 2008. animal crossing is coming to wii with its unique blend of cartoon and animals and mundane (yet fun) everyday tasks.
wii music (wii)
we’re not sure about this one. with the likes of rock band 2 also due out, this seems to be a bit behind the pack in terms of features. where the game really shines though is that it can use the wii remote to emulate around 60 different musical instruments including… maracas! thats why its in our list.
dead space (xbox 360, ps3)
developed by ea, this survival horror takes place on a mining ship floating in space. with no real information on screen, health and ammo are handled by visual elements on the character himself. this game focuses heavily on dismemberment so its certainly one for the adults.
tomb raider: underworld (xbox 360, ps3, wii, ds)
we’re really looking forward to this game. number eight in the tomb raider series promises to be a good one, with incredibly realistic animation in addition to the series signature puzzles.
prince of persia (xbox 360, ps3)
featuring cell-shaded graphics and an open world, this next installment in the prince of persia series sees you aided by a new female character and features lots of epic boss-like fights.
fallout 3 (xbox 360, ps3)
its been a long time coming - 10 years - but its finally here. the third game in the fallout series moves from isometric to first person and features in excess of 100 hours of gameplay. developed by the team behind oblivion, this will be good. a definite must-buy.

resistance 2 (ps3)
huge 300 foot enemies, a great story, and some of the best multiplayer on any console. resistance 2 looks to continue the success of the first game by giving fans a bigger and better sequel.
mortal kombat vs dc universe (xbox 360, ps3)
ok, we’re likely to receive some flack for posting this over the new street fighter but let us tell you why. a) mortal kombat is a truly great fighting game from our childhood and b) superman vs scorpion!
brutal legend (xbox 360, ps3)
not much we can tell you about this one. staring jack black and developed by the studio behind the truly magnificent and underrated psychonauts, it features guitars as weapons, rock, and an upgradeable vehicle. this promises to be another gem.
rock band 2 (xbox 360, ps3, wii)
did you like rock band? in fact, did you enjoy any of the guitar hero rhythm games? if you did then this ones for you. the sequel to one of the best rhythm games to date, it features improved guitar and drum controllers as well as a fresh list of songs.
halo wars (xbox 360)
there’s no denying the success of the halo games. we certainly enjoyed the plot of the first three. now, the halo universe is being taken in a new direction, a strategy game. featuring all of the excellent vehicles from the first 3 games, it looks good.
alan wake (xbox 360)
some amazing tech demos featuring diverse areas and amazing day/night cycles, and no release date. we know next to nothing about this game although, we do know that its about a horror writer.
final fantasy xiii (xbox 360, ps3)
chances are, if you’ve never heard of this series then you probably won’t understand what all the excitement is about. it should be a really, really good game.
mirrors edge (xbox 360, ps3)
a game played completely from a first person perspective involving jumping from rooftops and catching onto ledges at nauseating heights above a city. this game has a unique red and white visual style, with possible routes being highlighted red.
simcity creator (wii)
a new simcity game designed to take advantage of the wii’s motion controls. the game will share a similar visual style to the mysims series.
wii sports resort (wii)
used to demonstrate the new wii motionplus add-on, wii sports resort takes advantage of the additional range of motions afforded by the motionplus. featuring events such as sword fighting and jet skiing.
puzzle quest galactrix (xbox 360, ds)
the original puzzle quest game was a sleeper hit, with its unique blend of role-play and puzzle. the next game in the series builds on the puzzling aspects, by making it slightly more in-depth, and builds on the role-play by taking it to space. another sleeper hit?
rune factory: a fantasy harvest moon (ds)
a fantasy version of the much loved harvest moon series. harvest moon is essentially a compelling farming simulator. rune factory adds dungeon crawling and monster killing to the mix to create… well, a fantasy harvest moon.
resistance: retribution (psp)
a brand new resistance designed specifically for the psp, resistance retribution has its own story that covers the time between resistance and resistance 2. this will also have online multiplayer.
lego batman (xbox 360, ps3, wii, ds psp)
another lego game, but this time based on the batman universe. we have to admit that we are getting somewhat tired of these now but they are very well put together with fantastic production values. we will find it very difficult to resist a lego gotham city.
castlevania: order of ecclesia (ds)
the two previous nintendo ds castlevania games were excellent and we have no reason to believe that this won’t be as well. featuring a glyph system and online play, this will surely be another success for the franchise.
grand theft auto: china town wars (ds)
officially announced at E3 2008, grand theft auto is finally coming to the ds. not much is known at this stage but we can expect a new story and new characters.

The reason your bound to catch some flack about posting MKVSDC is because Mortal Kombat was a crappy game and simply got its popularity by being one of the first games to really lay the blood and gore on thick, the original game play mechanics were chunky at best and all of the moves were fairly difficult.
MK Vs. DC is an ok game (i have it) Not really any blood and gore though because superheroes are for younger audiences and little kids and their parents don’t want to watch blood come pouring out of the flash.
